CHEVROLET SILVERADO HAS SIX TOP-10 FINISHERS AT MANSFIELD JACK SPRAGUE FINISHES SECOND IN NO. 16 CHEVY TRUCKS SILVERADO

MANSFIELD, OH - Jack Sprague had a final green-white-checkered run to take the lead away from race winner Bobby Hamilton (Dodge) but fell just 0.169 second short of repeating his 2004 victory at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway. The 250-lap UAW/GM Ohio 250 was race number six of the 25-race 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. The three-time NCTS champion came from the 25th starting position to be in contention for the win.

Fellow Silverado driver, Shane Hmiel was on Sprague's tailgate when the checkered flag flew on lap 254. Hmiel led the race 61 laps in the mid section of the race but developed a loose condition as the laps wound down to finish third behind Hamilton and Sprague.

Rick Bickle finished fifth in the Hidden Heroes Silverado behind rookie Todd Kluever (Ford).

Team Silverado drivers Dennis Setzer in the No. 46 Chevrolet Silverado and David Starr in the No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Silverado finished seventh and ninth respectively. Butch Miller, Bickle's teammate, finished 10th after starting in the 16th position.

Pole sitter and two-time NCTS champion Ron Hornaday led the first 78 laps of the race, dropping back in the order after pitstops. But Hornaday took the NO. 6 GM Goodwrench Silverado back to the point on lap 143 and led another 40 circuits before being black flagged by NASCAR for jumping the restart following one of the day's 13 caution periods. The penalty was a pass through pit road at pit road speed.

The next event for the NCTS is the Quaker Steak and Lube 200 in Friday, May 20, 2005 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The race is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. EDT.
