RON HORNADAY, JR , NO. 33 CAMPING WORLD SILVERADO, STARTED 2ND, FINISHED 1st:
YOU BROUGHT THE SAME TRUCK AND GOT THE SAME RESULTS HERE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE. RON AN INTERESTING WEEK, BUT YOU CAME RIGHT BACK AND SHOWED THEM THIS TEAM IS ON TOP AND YOU GUYS ARE REALLY PUTTING IT TO THEM.
"Kevin and DeLana, Rick Ren and all these guys with the Camping World Chevrolet team have really believed in me. Chevrolet, Mark Smith and Pro Motors and all these guys are just unbelievable. RVS.com. Like you said, long week but I love everybody and this is awesome."
WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT THE BIG PICTURE HERE AND WE'VE GOT TO GO DOWN THE STRETCH AND THERE IS A LOT OF RACES REMAINING BUT YOU'VE GOT TO BE AWFUL HAPPY ABOUT THE MOMENTUM THAT THIS TEAM HAS PUT TOGETHER AND THE EQUIPMENT THAT YOU ARE BRINGING TO THE RACETRACK.
"Oh Johnny, he always saves it for the last fifty laps don't he? First and second, but we led the most laps. He was running sixth or seventh again, but he didn't put two tires on this weekend, he drove right up to the front so he's going to be a tough competitor and its going to come right down to Homestead again. I have to thank all of our VFW guys out there again and we appreciate what you guys do and Camping World. And I have to thank my wife; she is behind me one-hundred percent and my crew chief Rick Ren. It's been a long week but I have to thank everyone that has supported me on this deal."
THROUGH ALL OF THE STRESSES THIS WEEK HOW SWEET IS THE VICTORY?
"First of all I've got to thank all of the race fans. They are so unbelievable. The support they've given me this week. Kevin Harvick, Incorporated, NASCAR, everybody, Camping World I've really got to thank them to really believe in me and come out here and give me a truck like this. Rick Ren and all the guys did an awesome job. Same truck we won with last week so hopefully Kevin don't take this one, we definitely need to keep racing this one."
WHAT ABOUT THE RACE TODAY? EARLY ON YOU GUYS WERE UP FRONT THEN YOU FOUND YOURSELF BACK IN THE PACK JUST A LITTLE BIT.
"I tell you what, darn Johnny Benson was running sixth, seventh again and I don't know what he does in the last 50 laps but he comes along. It's going to come down to Homestead. We're going to do everything we can to keep running like we are. We're going to try to lead the most laps and win all these races. Awesome at the beginning of the race. Johnny and I were side-by-side for 10 or 15 laps and I got into him one time and he knew why. I got a little loose underneath him and he pinched me a little bit but unbelievable day. I just have to thank the Lord. This is really cool, I appreciate it."
TALK ABOUT THE START OF THE RACE WHEN YOU WERE TRYING TO GET AROUND JOHNNY BENSON:
"The first time I got in there, I got loose and got in to Johnny in to the corner there at the beginning of the race. I wasn't about to do that and loose a little bit of ground. I made sure we got in straight and made sure I didn't get the back of the truck swinging out. NASCAR has banded us a little bit with our gear-ratio rule; we have to use their gear ratio rule, so I can't do my real trick restart. I just had to depend on my Chevrolet horsepower to pull in front of them, I guess I don't know.
TALK ABOUT LEADING THE MOST LAPS TODAY:
"That is what we have to do; the great thing about this is we thought about the way we were going to come. Rick Ren came with the exact same setup we had last year in a brand new truck.
"Last year we really dominated the race. This year the No. 09 (Travis Kvapil) was fast. The No. 99 (Erik Darnell) was fast. Johnny Benson was fast. The caution flags played in to our hands. It worked out perfect. When I saw 10 to go, I was still kind of nervous, but when we had that other yellow and there was only four to go, I felt like then I was pretty comfortable.
"I put a lot of rear brake in the truck today and I started to get a lot of vibration on the rear rotors. So I was concerned. So when Rick gets it apart, I guarantee I busted all the rear rotors off that things."
WERE YOU ABLE TO HOLD OFF KYLE BUSCH FROM MAKING A CHARGE?
"At the beginning of the race, I think we were a little better than Kyle. He made a couple of runs; he saved his tires and ran up on us. When he got that penalty, they put him in the back and I didn't see him all day. I knew he was making a charge there at the end. I was more concerned about Johnny and the way he was coming. He was really strong for the first two laps off a yellow so I had to do something to get ahead of him and Kvapil. Kvapil was really strong on long runs. We are going to have to go home and work on it. We aren't going to come back next year with the same setup. It won twice, but it ain't going to win three years in a row. So we are going to go home and do some homework."
DID YOU SEE ANY OF THE COMMOTION GOING ON ON PIT ROAD AFTER THE RACE?
"Good, that keeps them off my back! Good! (LAUGHS) No, I didn't see anything. You know, I was more excited about seeing the fans and what they were doing and doing burnouts, hopefully they were yelling for me, but I guess they weren't, oh well. (LAUGHS)."
DO YOU THINK YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN BY KVAPIL ANYWAY ON THE TRACK?
"I don't think so. Clean air meant everything to my truck the way we set it up today. It definitely would have made it handle different. I have already run in to enough of Jack Roush's trucks this year, I wasn't about to run in to another one. I would have settled for second for Travis."
