"We knew we had a good truck in practice yesterday. We struggled a little bit, but all the guys on this Northern Tool + Equipment crew did a great job adjusting the truck and getting it to where it needed to be. I'm kind of bummed out that we didn't get to qualify, but we had good pit stops all day long and we were able to come away with a second-place finish."
WERE YOU TRYING TO RACE HORNADAY DOWN OR HOPING FOR A CAUTION? "We were definitely hoping for a caution. Looking at lap times, we were a little bit quicker than he was at the end, but he might have been riding at the same time because he had such a big lead. You never know. I had to push it a little bit though to keep in front of Skinner, though, because he was coming on me so I'm definitely happy with this finish."
RICK CRAWFORD -- No. 14 Power Stroke Diesel by Int'l Ford F-150 (Finished 6th)
"I'd be happy if this Ford F-150 was in victory lane. It was a good top-10 finish today for Circle Bar Racing and the Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International pick-up. I think Roush Yates engines and all that crew has picked it up a little bit. They gave us some torque and we needed it this weekend at New Hampshire. It paid off with Erik finishing second and the Fords giving a good show today."
YOU WERE IN THE TOP 10 ALL DAY. "I think track position is a big key, especially at a one-mile flat track race track. We have no excuses today. We should have been in victory lane. We've got the truck to do it, but we were just missing a little bit there at the end."
JON WOOD -- No. 21 BrandonElam.com Ford F-150 (Finished 9th)
"I'll be honest with you, we're trying a lot of different things each week on our short track program because it's not like what our speedway packages are. One minute you might say it's really struggling and then we hit on it as we did today. The caution did help, but I think had we been able to restart the race at that particular point, I would have been able to finish there anyway. I passed guys that had been running there, it just took us until that point to get the truck where it was good. Again, we're experimenting each week at these flat tracks and short tracks and it's finally starting to pay off."
TRAVIS KVAPIL -- No. 6 K&N Filters Ford F-150 (Finished 15th)
DID THE TIMING OF THAT CAUTION RUIN YOUR DAY? "I don't know because something else could have happened that would have made our day. We had better mileage than a lot of guys, it looked like. We really were gonna try to get by by staying out, and then try to catch the caution and then you've got a lot of guys trapped a lap down, so it really could have turned out to be a good day for us, but we weren't anything. We really struggled the whole weekend with this truck. I'm just disappointed. We thought right at the end of practice we had something that was OK and could run top 10 with, but when we got in the race we just just struggled with it. We never could get the adjustments right. We found a little speed in the middle of the race, but we just weren't where we needed to be."
T.J. BELL -- No. 50 Heathcliff's Cat Litter Ford F-150 (Finished 16th)
"We thought we had a lot better race truck than that, but we just got stuck in traffic all day long. Our Ford F-150 was really good, but we just had to use it up way too much trying to get past people and by the time we'd get through people we'd get a caution. We struggled a little bit on our pit stops today, especially on our green flag stop when we needed a good stop. We ran out there behind Travis and our F-150s were all right. Erik did good, so I'm glad for that, but I guess me and Travis need to go back to the shop and try to get our trucks a little bit better."
DAVID STARR -- No. 10 Int'l Maxx Force Diesel Ford F-150 (Finished 14th)
"Our International Maxx Force Diesel F-150 was making some bold moves, but they just weren't bold enough. We had a good truck all day long. The lap times were great. At the start of the race we were just a little tight, but after we made our first pit stop, the Circle Bar crew went to work and they gave us what we needed to rotate there in the center. Track position, we pitted under green and I don't really understand how we lost a lap, but we did. I did everything I could to try to stay in front of Hornaday or at least run with him to get the lucky dog if the caution came back out, and I ran the front tires off of it because I was running so hard. But we had a good truck today. The team did a heck of a job. My teammate Rick Crawford had another good run, but I'm disappointed because we had a better truck than where we finished. It was a good race for us, but the finished result doesn't show it. At least there's a lot of progress with our program. I'm trying to be cheery, but I'm disappointed because we were better than where we finished. It was still a fun day and a good race for our whole Circle Bar Racing team, and I'm looking forward to next week."
