MOORESVILLE, NC (September 21, 2004) --The Billy Ballew Motorsports team rolls into the land of lady luck for the running of the Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend hoping the chips will fall in place for a victory.

"We are looking forward to the west coast swing," No. 15 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Shane Hmiel said. "We were pretty bummed out about running out of gas last week while taking the second spot from (Jamie) McMurray who ran out too. We led some laps and it was a good points night overall."

The allure of the marquees and casinos on the strip is sure to entice the drivers and teams in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series while in sin city. Hmiel though is no stranger to Las Vegas and its motor speedway. He has raced there twice before in the NASCAR Busch Series starting 8th and finishing 12th in 2003.

"The track in Vegas is similar to Kentucky and we had a great truck there," Hmiel said. "In Vegas, you need a lot of downforce and horsepower. That DEI engine will give us the push we need and Ritchie (Wauters) has a handle on the set up on the truck. Everyone asks how you can concentrate on a race while in Vegas since there are a lot of things to do and see. It's a fun town but when we come to race, we come to race. I am focusing on one thing and one thing only, a top-5 finish and maybe even a win for the Billy Ballew Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado team. The guys have been working hard on the truck for here and California and we've been pretty consistent in our finishes. We're pretty confident that we'll have a great race truck. I want to give a special thanks to Whitaker Farms and the Stratosphere Hotel for all their help. I'll be doing some gambling there after I roll the dice playing for a victory on Saturday."

Shane Hmiel will be signing autographs in the Stratosphere Hotel's Casino on Friday, September 24th from 8:00 to 9:00pm and at Sports & More inside the Tower Shops, Sunday, September 26th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Join the rest of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers for the Las Vegas 350 Saturday September 25th at 10:00pm EST on SPEED Channel.
