Las Vegas, Nev. -- Denny Hamlin drove the Team EJP Racing No. 03 E.J. Prescott Chevrolet to a 22nd-place finish in the Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Hamlin qualified 10th, and ran strong in the early stages of the event, thrilling the crowd and television audience with several three- and four-abreast moves in the pack.

While Hamlin was exciting to watch, he worked hard to pick up the nuances of the draft on the sweeping 1.5-mile desert tri-oval. Hamlin is running a limited NCTS schedule with Team EJP Racing in conjunction with Joe Gibbs Racing, for which he is under contract as a development driver for the future.

"I've got a lot of learning to do on bigger tracks," said Hamlin, who was making his first start on a track larger than a mile in length. "Aero was a big issue tonight. I have to get some more experience running in the draft. That is what this program is all about, so we can learn and move forward for 2005 and beyond. We learned a lot here tonight, and hopefully we can come back at Texas in a couple of weeks and be better."

Hamlin and the Team EJP Racing No. 03 E.J. Prescott Chevrolet return to action when the series takes to the Texas Motor Speedway on October 16 in the Silverado 350. The race will be televised live on Speed Channel and broadcast live on select radio affiliates of the Motor Racing Network. Check local listings for broadcast start times.
