REUTIMANN FINISHES 12TH LAS VEGAS

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (September 25, 2005) -- David Reutimann finished 12th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday night.J

"I'm disappointed that we finished 12th," said Reutimann. "The longer we raced, the looser and looser the truck got. Finally, it got to the point where it was hung out. It was just too loose, which made it really hard to drive."

After starting fourth, Reutimann immediately advanced to third and maintained a top-five position for nearly 40 laps. At Lap 55, Reutimann pitted under caution while running ninth. Another caution occurred 13 laps later. Reutimann moved up to second as trucks ahead of him pitted.

"We started the race off okay," said Reutimann. "We were still a little free."

Battling a loose handling truck halfway, Reutimann drifted outside the top-five. By lap 102, Reutimann was 16th. Settling into the top-15 one lap later, Reutimann pitted at Lap 113 under caution for tires and major changes to his No. 17 NTN Bearings Toyota Tundra.

"When we pitted, we were struggling," said Reutimann. "We had lost a lap, but we were able to get it back by being the Lucky Dog recipient. The changes made it a little bit better, but the longer we went it got worse."

Restarting 12th with 30 laps remaining, the team made their last pit stop of the night at Lap 127.

"We came in a third time to put tires on and make huge changes," said Reutimann. "We over compensated because it had been so loose. It was just too tight to go anywhere on that last ten lap run."

Reutimann is now ninth in the points standings.

"We've got a few weeks off before our next race," said Reutimann. "We race at Martinsville late October. Our best finish there is eighth last season. DW will be running the race there. So, I'm looking forward toracing with him."

Live race coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, October 22nd begins at 1 p.m. EDT live on SPEED Channel. MRN Radio will broadcast the event.
