TODD KLUEVER-50-World Financial Group Ford F-150 (Finished 12th)
Top Rookie press conference
"I'm really disappointed to be honest. We qualified second and we were one of the fastest trucks in practice, both practice sessions. The truck was so much better than how we finished. We were running sixth or seventh there before the green-white-checkered. I thought I had a tire going down on that green-white-checkered finish, but they were all still up, so I can't explain it. I'm just kind of dumbfounded that our truck didn't run as good as it did in practice. We started off the race a little bit freer than I wanted to and came in and adjusted on it the first pit stop and got the thing fairly decent. We came in the second time there and tightened it up a little more and really upset it after that. Twelfth place is better than some of the stuff we've got this year, but after the way we've run the last couple of weeks it's really disgusting today."
"I don't know if it was the track or it was us, but we got a bunch freer in the race than we were in practice. You live and you learn. This is my second week with Mike Beam as my crew chief and we've had top-10 trucks for sure, probably two top-five trucks. I would have liked to have that green-white-checkered go normal. I don't know what happened there; I can't explain it. I could have swore I had a tire going down. Unfortunately it is what it is, and we'll load up and go to Memphis."
"It (tires) wasn't really a concern of mine. Our World Financial Group truck was good on older tires. Our tire wear was looking really good. I don't know what happened there. I cleaned up my tires the best I could on the yellow, and we went green and the thing was really ill handling. Hopefully we'll go back and find something wrong there. I think we've definitely come out of our shell. We've practiced good, and last week we ran real good. This week we were going to have a respectable finish even though it wasn't what I was hoping for. That's all I can ask for really."
