Career at Kentucky:
This will be Chad Chaffin's third career start at the Kentucky Speedway in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
Chad On Kentucky Speedway:
"I really enjoy coming to the Kentucky Speedway and racing. I have always run well there and it historically has one of the highest race purses in the Craftsman Truck Series. The fans in the area are awesome and the stands are usually pretty full which makes for a great environment at the track. I finished fifth in the race last year and I think I have always qualified inside the top-10 at the track. My new team has worked their tails off to get trucks ready to go to the race track and this week we are rolling out a different truck. I am sure we will be pretty strong and Toyota is giving us some incredible horsepower for these Tundra's and I think that showed last week with four of the top five finishers being in a Toyota. This is considered the home track for my new boss (the Wyler's) and we are all focused to put on a solid performance for them and bring this Tundra home with a top finish."
Wyler Racing Welcomes Sponsors For Kentucky Race:
The Wyler Racing organization is a total of two weeks old but they have their sights set on some great things in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. This week at Kentucky is considered a home track advantage for them (if one does exist in racing) and they are bringing along with them the support of some local companies.
Huntington Bank has come on board with Wyler Racing and will serve as the primary sponsor this week on the No. 60 Huntington Bank Toyota Tundra. They will be joined by associate sponsors Cintas and 700 WLW.
"This is really cool to be racing in the backyard of the Wyler's and then have these local businesses come on board for sponsorship this week is neat," Chaffin said. "Sponsors are what allow these teams to go out there each week and perform and put on a show like we do for the fans in attendance and across the country on TV. I look forward to spending some time with these sponsors this week and then putting on a good show behind the wheel of our No. 60 Toyota Tundra."
Chad On New Team:
"I am totally amazed that these guys have been able to put this team together in such a short amount of time and still go to the race track the last two weeks and field a truck. I have been around this sport just about my entire life and I have never seen something like this happen. TRD has been a big help in making all of this happen but we still had to do some of the things such as purchasing hauler, equipment, uniforms, etc.... In the midst of doing all of this stuff we did manage to go to Milwaukee and Kansas and come home with two solid top-20 finishes. I am proud to be a part of this team and to have the association with the Wyler's -- just an awesome situation. We are still playing a little catch-up here on a few things as a new team but we will gain on it pretty soon and then I think we will be a strong force on the race track -- I can't wait."
