Brendan Gaughan and Orleans racing plan a full assault on the Blue Grass State

Las Vegas...Ready to set sail for the Blue Grass State and the running of the Build Ford Tough 225, Saturday night, July 12 at Kentucky Speedway, Brendan Gaughan and Orleans Racing are gunning to once again take over the point lead in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

"Kentucky should be a good race for us," says Gaughan, who currently sits just six points out of first. "Dodge had a manufacturer's test at the track earlier in the season and our Orleans Dodge was really strong. Add to that our great pit stops and all the knowledge we have gained over the past season and we know we have an excellent chance of hitting our goal."

With ten races out of twenty-five complete in the 2003 Craftsman Truck Series, the Orleans Racing team has more than shown their championship ability, winning at both Texas and Milwaukee, taking second at Charlotte and a third at both Darlington and Bakersfield.

"Last year at Kentucky, we had a spark plug problem," continues Gaughan. "But once we got that fixed, we ran well and ended up finishing 11th. Kentucky Speedway is another 1.5-mile track and we will be using the same truck we ran at Kansas this past weekend, our No. 9 Dodge, which also took a second at Charlotte. This race is at night, and I like night races. Not only is it cooler, but it is much more comfortable and definitely exciting for the fans. It should be a really good show."

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series offers some of the most exciting wheel-to-wheel racing found anywhere in the country. "The competition is really fierce this season," says Gaughan. "In 10 races we have had seven different winners and there are a number of other drivers capable of taking the Checkered Flag. The points are tight and I think it's going to be a battle throughout the season. We feel really strong and I know we will be in the thick of things. Winning is definitely a team effort and that's where my guys excel. Our goal is to win the Championship for Dodge and we are certainly going to be doing our best to do just that."
