JOSH WISE MAKES NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES DEBUT AT KANSAS SPEEDWAY.
CORNELIUS, N.C. --Josh Wise, the 2006 USAC National Sprint Car Series Champion, will make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut in the No. 00 Aaron's Lucky Dog Toyota Tundra fielded by Darrell Waltrip Motorsports at Kansas Speedway this Friday.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to drive for Darrell Waltrip Motorsports and Aaron's," said Wise. "Many drivers strive to be in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. I have waited what feels like forever to get into the truck and race. This is an outstanding opportunity for me and a big step in my career thanks to the support of Aaron's and the Waltrip's."
Wise is a part of a future stars program that Michael Waltrip Racing has implemented. He is scheduled to compete in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA RE/MAX Series events with Darrell Waltrip Motorsports and Eddie Sharp Racing respectively.
"I've already raced in a few ARCA RE/MAX events and tested the Aaron's Lucky Dog Toyota Tundra several times, which was a great experience," said Wise. "I have tried to put as many puzzle pieces together that I can before actually racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the first time. I have asked a ton of questions and learned from those around me, especially David, who drove for Darrell last season."
Darrell Waltrip sees potential in Wise like he did in David Reutimann.
"We watched David Reutimann grow and mature in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and contend for the championship last season. His performance advanced him to the NASCAR Busch Series and the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series," said Waltrip. "We are giving Josh the support he needs to succeed in NASCAR just like David."
Wise also has the support of his sponsor, Aaron's Sales and Lease.
"I know Aaron's has a large presence in Kansas and Cincinnati," Wise said. "The truck team has received a ton of encouragement from those associates and their customer base. I really want to have strong finish there to show Aaron's how much I appreciate their support."
Live coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Kansas Speedway on April 28th begins at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time on SPEED and MRN Radio.
