Keselowski Family Ready for Speedway Return at Kansas and Team's 225th NCTS Start: After spending the past two weekends racing on smaller race tracks, the K Automotive Motorsports team is ready to return to the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway for this weekend's running of the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250. 20-year old, Brad Keselowski will be behind the wheel of his family-owned Ford F-150, making his seventh career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start. 2004 marks the fourth year for the NCTS and K Automotive to visit the speedway and the first time for the youngest Keselowski. With three seasons of notes to work from, Keselowski feels good about his chances in Kansas.
"We have had some good runs around the Kansas Speedway in years past," said Keselowski. "And it seems that in the few races which I have run this season one in particular that I felt stronger on was the Texas Motor Speedway which was also a one and a half mile track, but unfortunately a mechanical failure knocked me out of the running for a strong finish. I feel like it takes time to build not only your experience in this series, but also your confidence. This is a very competitive series and you need to earn the respect of your fellow racers before you can stick your truck in too deep. I think Kansas is going to be a solid run for our team, we feel confident after our run at Milwaukee and we are ready to bring home a top ten finish."
K Automotive Motorsports will also mark their 225th start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at this weekend's Kansas event. The family-owned and operated team has competed in the series since it's inception in 1995 and accumulated ten wins and 140 top ten finishes.
"It is truly amazing to think that this will mark 225 starts in the series for our team this weekend," said Kay Keselowski, Team Manager and Spotter. "We have been able to enjoy a lot of success in the series as well as watch it grow in fans, sponsors and television coverage. When we started with the series in 1995, Bob (Keselowski) was driving the truck and now in the tenth season of the NCTS we have the chance to see our youngest son, Brad behind the wheel for some races. It has just been a great series to be affiliated with and we look forward to many more races and seasons together."
The O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 will take the green flag on Saturday, July 3 at 2:00pm CT. The race can be seen Live on Speed Channel as well as heard Live on MRN Radio and XM Radio Channel 144.
