Jason White handcuffed with handling issues in Bristol

BRISTOL, TN (August 24, 2012) – Coming off a career best finish just five day ago, Jason White and his GunBroker.com team had very high hopes as they entered the driver’s favorite track. However, a long day of battling handling issues on their No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford relegated White and his team to a 14th place finish in the running of the UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

White started the 200-lap event from the 27th position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day at the track known as the “World’s Fastest Half Mile”. He would begin the race fighting a very “tight” condition on his No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford and long green flag runs didn’t provide the Doug George led team many opportunities to make the necessary adjustments. Jason managed to hang onto the lead lap and avoid the late troubles while clawing his way to the 14th place finish.

“It was very disappointing out there tonight,” stated White. “We just didn’t get the grip on the handling of our GunBroker.com Ford all day and that continued into the race tonight. We really lacked the forward bite we needed to attack the track in order to get around here fast. We battled the tight condition most of the day during practice and qualifying and were not able to make the necessary changes in time to get our truck where we needed it to be.”

Coming off his career best 2nd-place finish last week in Michigan, White maintains his 10th position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – 17 points out of the ninth position.

“I felt good about coming to my favorite track this week – especially after that finish last week,” added Jason. “But it just wasn’t meant to be tonight. All of us on this team battled tough and to come out of here with a 14th place finish is a testament to the no quit attitude this team has shown all year. We have another big week ahead of us next week and all we can do is put this behind us and get back to running where we need to be.”
