Chase On IRP:
Chase is coming off a 15th place finish last week at Michigan. The finish marked his fourth straight top-20 finish and his sixth in the last seven races.
"This will be my first time racing at IRP. I have gone the last few years to watch the races and the track looks like it is a lot of fun. I have had some pretty good runs at similar tracks to IRP and I expect the same on Friday night. It is always a big show here for the whole week in Indy and you sure do want to make a good showing. The race always has some great racing and is a fan favorite on our schedule. The guys on this team have been giving me great trucks all year and if we get the chassis under us and stay out of trouble then we will have a really good run."
#8 DODGE at IRP:
Chase will be racing the truck named "Chunky" this week. This will be the fourth race of the season for this truck, the last one being at Gateway a few weeks ago where Chase earned his NASCAR CTS career best finish of 12th. "Chunky" previously was also raced at Milwaukee (27th) and Memphis (18th).
Chase will not have any appearances this week due to the tight schedule of the one-day event at IRP. He will be busy with on track activities and preparing for the 200 lap event under the lights.
The schedule at IRP presents Chase and his team with a true one-day event. With the haulers parking at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning the day starts early and culminates with the race at 7:00 p.m. CST.
"This reminds me of racing at the old Nashville Fairgrounds - grassroots racing," says Chase. "You unload and get down to business. With the schedule so fast paced there is no time to waste and we will need to really dial-in our chassis set-up fairly quickly. We should be OK as we have had some pretty good success with this truck at these flat tracks we have been running. I am excited about this one-day show and I look forward to a strong run for this #8 DODGE."
