Skinner has earned one top-five and two top-10 finishes in NCWTS competition at the track. The 1995 Truck Series champion has started from the pole position on two occasions including last year's season finale and has only started from outside of row three one time. In addition, he has also competed at the track five times in the Sprint Cup Series and twice in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. In all, Skinner has taken the green flag 14 times at HMS.
A SEASON ENDING CELEBRATION: Skinner will join several of his driver counterparts from the Truck Series and the Nationwide Series for a fan event at Lummus Park in Miami on Wednesday. The event will begin with a hauler parade from Bicentennial Olympic Park in the early afternoon and will culminate with a driver Q&A session at 3:45 p.m. ET and an autograph session following that at Lummus Park.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Crew Chief Eric Phillips and the No. 5 Randy Moss Motorsports team will utilize chassis RMM-106 for this weekend's event. This truck was new for the race at Chicagoland Speedway and has since been run at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and again two weeks ago at Texas Motor Speedway, where Skinner drove it to an eighth-place finish.
THIS SEASON'S STATS: The No. 5 team has posted eight top-five and 16 top-10 finishes in 24 events this season, including three wins, which came at Kansas Speedway, Iowa Speedway and Gateway (Madison, Ill.) International Raceway. Skinner holds down the third spot in the NCWTS driver point standings, 150 markers behind second place.
SKINNER'S CAREER NCWTS STATS: Mike Skinner has scored 28 victories in 203 starts in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition and has earned 88 top-five and 129 top-10 finishes since making his first start in Phoenix (and going on to win the event) in 1995. Skinner has also earned 50 pole positions during that time.
