GEICO ANNOUNCES SIX RACE TRUCK DEAL FOR PAPIS AND GERMAIN

Mooresville, NC (January 20, 2009) -- Just a few weeks remain before NASCAR's opening weekend in Daytona, and GEICO has announced the expansion of their Max Papis race program. Papis, the driver of the #13 GEICO Camry in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series, will pilot a GEICO Toyota Tundra for Germain Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for six races beginning on February 21, 2009, at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. Other race venues will include Atlanta, Dover, Bristol, Phoenix and an additional race to be named in the future.

Papis started 3rd at Texas Motor Speedway in a GEICO Tundra in his Truck Series debut on October 31, 2008. He looks to gain valuable experience that will compliment his currently slated eighteen-race schedule in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. While he has logged countless laps as a test driver for Hendrick Motorsports, the experience of racing in traffic among his NASCAR peers will prove significant as Papis attempts to master the #13 GEICO Camry in the Sprint Cup Series.

"This is all very exciting for me and I can't wait to get on the track this season and drive for GEICO," Papis says with his million-dollar smile. "The opportunity to drive the GEICO Toyota Tundra in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will give me great experience at tracks where we will be racing the #13 GEICO Cup car. I am grateful for the support of GEICO and Germain Racing and look forward to a great 2009 season."

Versatility is the word of the day for a guy who has experienced success in nearly every form of auto racing. A jack-of-all-trades, 'Mad Max' is sure to adapt quickly to the world of NASCAR.

The 2004 Grand-Am Rolex Series Champion, Papis was born in Como, Italy, and now resides in Mooresville, North Carolina. He has made over 100 open wheel race starts, including two prior Indianapolis 500 starts, while also serving as a test driver for NASCAR's Hendrick Motorsports. He has also participated in NASCAR's #2 Series, where he recorded a third place finish on August 4, 2007 in Montreal.

Aside from recording three wins in the former CART Series and being a former Formula 1 driver, Papis has been one of the top competitors in American sports-car racing. He has posted an overall win at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2002, as well as a Grand-American Rolex Sports Car Series championship in 2004. As a member of GM's Corvette Racing team, Papis recorded two wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans, as well as two runner-up finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
