"I'm ready. Ray stinks needs to work a little bit harder on the chassis and Ernie Elliott's Greg Jacobs is going to tune the motor for us up for a little bit more. Tweak it up a little bit, and I think we'll be ready."
"I've been relaxed probably for the last 15 minutes. I got that over with and ended up in the top-five. I feel like tomorrow is probably a very important race for our race team. Like I say, we need a little bit more. I drive a Ford and it hasn't got the breaks that some of the other manufacturers had this year, so we have to dig deeper to make it compete. But, I think running with someone on the race track punches a hole for a Ford a little bit, so I had to start fifth where I can pass somebody during the race. Nah, I'm just kidding. I wish these guys a lot of luck. I made a statement in Phoenix, and I know Ted has made it before, we've been talking back and forth and nobody is made yet and I hope nobody is mad after the race tomorrow because we've had a great season; all three of us have. May the best man, best truck and best team win tomorrow."
"In 1989, I won the Snowball Derby in Pensacola and that was the final race of the season and I was supposed to beat Joe Nemechek by seven places and he finished seventh in the race and he beat me by five points. His career went on to stardom and I've kept working."
