Starr on Racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:
"Homestead is a great track for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, especially for the last race of the season. When they changed the track a few years ago and added the progressive banking, they really made a fun track for both the drivers to race on and for the fans to watch. The track is really wide, which means there are several grooves. That means there's going to be a lot of passing and action-packed racing. The key at Homestead is to have a good handling race truck and a lot of horsepower. Horsepower hasn't been a problem for my Red Horse Racing Toyota all season. And with Jamie Jones (crew chief) calling the shots, I'm confident that we will have a great race truck for the season finale.
"I've had a couple of third place finishes at Homestead in the past, and I sure would like to improve on that this weekend. To stay in the top five in points, we're going to have to have a solid run. There are too many other competitors that are nipping at our heels right now. I can't think of a better way to protect our spot than to go out with a win."
STARR ON HIS RED HORSE RACING TEAM AND THEIR 2006 SEASON:
"It's hard to believe that another season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is coming to a close this weekend at Homestead. It seems like just yesterday we were racing in Daytona, and now we are racing for our final points position of the year. Last weekend, we were able to take advantage of the situation, and we moved into the top five in points. Now, our goal at Homestead is to make sure we don't lose that fifth-place spot.
"Just like it is every year in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, there are a lot of points positions that are up for grabs. That's just how impressive the competition level is in the Series. There are a lot of hungry drivers and teams who want to move up in the points as much as they can before the checkered flag. They are going to fight for those positions, and the Red Horse Racing team is going to do everything we can to hold on to our spot. That means we have our work cut out for us. We need to qualify and race well, so that we can keep our top-five spot.
"I'm so proud of what this Red Horse Racing Team has accomplished. To be a first year team -- the first year the driver has been with this team and this manufacturer -- I couldn't be more proud of what we have done. We have a win and several top-fives and top-10s. But we'd still like to get in Victory Lane again."
* Starr will be making his 165th career start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this week at Homestead.
