Eighth in points over last three races.
Portenga brings mini-streak into Texas.

NORWOOD, Ohio -Riding a mildly-hot streak that includes three top-15 finishes in a row, Steve Portenga and the Roto-Rooter Racing Team are headed to Texas for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 400 at the Texas Motor Speedway Friday, June 7.

"We're going to try to keep the Roto-Rooter Chevrolet on its consistent runs with top-15 finishes," Portenga said. "If you do that, you'll end up with a good finish in the standings at the end of the year."

Portenga has been gaining in the season-long point standings in recent weeks. Over the last three events, his 387-point total is the eighth-best in the circuit. He's ahead of notables such as Coy Gibbs, Jon Wood, Travis Kvapil and Robert Pressley during that time.

For the fifth time in seven races, Portenga heads to a new track. This week's race will be his first at the high-speed, 1.5-mile quad oval at the Texas Motor Speedway.

"I'm hearing that if you get everything right, you can run wide open all the way around," Portenga said. "We think our speedway program is pretty good, primarily because of the Hutter engines we use. I like the high-speed tracks, too, so I'm ready for this one."

Portenga is also looking forward to seeing the Texas-sized crowd that attends truck events at the track.

"I've heard we draw pretty well there," he said. "It's always good to race in front of a big crowd."

The O'Reilly Auto Parts 400 is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. EDT/6:00 p.m. EDT Friday, June 7. The race will be telecast live on ESPN and broadcast on the radio affiliates of the Motor Racing Network.
