Texas tough on Portenga as engine fails.

ROANOKE, Texas - Engine failure after 94 laps put a damper on what was lining up to be a good night for Steve Portenga and the Roto-Rooter Chevrolet. The malady left Portenga in 25th position at the conclusion of the Silverado 350 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Texas Motor Speedway Friday, September 13.

"I guess that Friday the 13th got us tonight," Portenga said. "What a shame. The Roto-Rooter Chevrolet was awesome tonight. We were running really well. The pit stop was good. Without the problem, I know we were looking at a top-10 to top-12 finish."

Despite the problem, Portenga retained 20th position in the series point standings.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series continues with a September 21 event in South Boston, Va.
