Schrader At California: Ken Schrader has six starts at California Speedway in two NASCAR Divisions. Schrader has three starts in the No. 33 Skoal Racing Chevrolet in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and three starts in the NASCAR Winston West Series where he has posted two back-to-back victories in 1997 and 1998. Schrader has 13 starts behind the wheel of a NASCAR Craftsman Truck, but he has never competed in a truck at California Speedway.

It posted a seventh-place finish at Homestead and a 13th-place finish at Phoenix.

Crew Chief Change: Sammy Johns, crew chief for the No. 33 Skoal Racing Chevrolet and Ken Schrader on the Winston Cup Series, will crew chief for the No. 52 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet at California this weekend. Wally Brown, Jr., who has been crew chief for the Oakwood Homes Racing team since the start of the 1999 NASCAR Craftsman Truck season, has taken a position with Joe Gibbs Racing as an engineer for their NASCAR Busch Series program.

West Coast Road Trip: Schrader is taking a cross-country trip to the West Coast from his home in Concord, N.C. and will be away from home for almost two weeks. His first stop on the road trip will be the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in Fontana, Calif. Next, Schrader will travel to Las Vegas for the SEMA show, an automotive aftermarket trade show. The final stop on the adventure is Phoenix International Raceway where he will compete in the NASCAR Busch Series event in the No. 15 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet and the NASCAR Winston Cup event in the No. 33 Skoal Racing Chevrolet. Schrader will also wear his car owner hat at Phoenix when Scott Hansen races in the NASCAR Southwest Tour event in the No. 33 Budweiser Chevrolet.
