Keselowski Taking Daytona Momentum to California Speedway: While Brad Keselowski left the Daytona International Speedway with a 'slightly bent' race truck, he was still one of the happier drivers in the garage area as he celebrated his NCTS career-best seventh place finish. However that celebration will quickly shift to focus on this weekend's American Racing Wheels 200 at the California Speedway. Keselowski, who currently sits sixth in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series points, will pilot his No. 29 SUBcrews.com Ford F-150 to what he hopes will be another top ten finish to start off this 2005 season.
"We were all pretty excited about the finish there at Daytona," said Keselowski. "But this weekend it starts all over as now we need to focus on another solid run at California. There is definitely momentum with our SUBcrews.com racing team and I think a lot of that comes from knowing that we were strong enough to run in the top ten at Daytona even though I don't think there were all that many believers in the garage area."
K Automotive will bring a brand new truck to this weekend's event, although the 2005 Ford F-150 still has yet to be named, the team is confident that it will be able to earn one with a strong run around the two-mile speedway. The team has posted strong runs over the past seven years of competing at California with their best starting position coming in 2000 when they started from the fourth position and their best finish of sixth coming the following season in 2001. Keselowski has looked forward to his opportunity to run at California and believes he can continue his strong start to the 2005 season.
"This will be another new race track for me as a driver," said Keselowski. "We have always run well here and brought strong trucks and I think this brand new truck will really get around here in a hurry. Just like Daytona, my goal for qualifying and the race will be a top ten, but hopefully this time we can earn that top ten and keep all the sheet metal straight."
Keselowski has made nine starts to date in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with his career best finish coming last weekend at Daytona International Speedway where he finished in the seventh position. Keselowski currently sits sixth in series points as he was able to lead a lap at Daytona where he earned five bonus points. The American Racing Wheels 200 will take the green flag on Friday, February 25 at 9:00pm ET and can be seen Live on SPEED Channel.
Keselowski Appearance at California Speedway: Brad Keselowski along with several NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers will sign autographs on Thursday, February 24 at the Dave & Buster's at the Ontario Mills Mall, just two miles from the California Speedway. Autograph sessions will be split between 7 and 8pm and then 8 and 9pm. Keselowski is scheduled to appear between 8 and 9pm.
