Lawler Ready to Take on the Monster Mile in 3rd Truck Series Start
Ryan Lawler will pilot the #07 Manheim's Dealers Auto Auctions Chevrolet for SS-Green Light Racing at Dover International Speedway on Friday night. The AAA Insurance 200 will be Lawler's 3rd NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. The young driver finished 17th in his first-ever race at Martinsville Speedway earlier this year. Lawler was looking strong at Kansas Speedway until he had to drive through the infield grass to avoid a wreck and his radiator was punctured. His engine retired shortly after and his day was over at lap-72.
Lawler and the SS-Green Light Racing Team will be looking for a solid run at the 1-mile oval Dover, Delaware track. The track is better known as the 'Monster Mile'. It gets its name by being one of the most intimidating tracks on the NASCAR Circuit. The track has been known to wreak havoc on NASCAR's most skilled competitors. This could be an intimidating place to race in just your 3rd ever NASCAR Truck Series event. But Lawler is ready and actually excited about the challenge.
"I am excited to run Dover," said Lawler. "It's a tough track, but I think I can do well there and welcome the challenge."
"We had some bad luck at Kansas and I'd like to get a good solid finish at Dover," added Lawler. "I really like racing in this series and racing Dover will definitely be fun."
