This week's truck:
"This is a truck that we built ourselves here on the West coast and raced at Kansas City and Phoenix last year. It had some nagging problems that kept us from getting a good finish, but it was pretty good the last time out at Darlington."
Last Race for this Truck:
03/15/02 @ Darlington Raceway, Craftsman Anniversary 200; Started 18th, Finished 21st
"We had a right rear go flat early and got tangled up with another truck. The truck actually ran very well, but we ran into some misfortune early on that wasn't our fault and that kept us from having a good finish."
Recapping last race:
Started 18th, Finished 22nd, 195 of 200 Laps, Running, $8,815
"We were very loose off the start and got to racing with Morgan Shepherd. Going into turn three, he pinched me down onto the white line and since he was outside of me, I didn't have the room I needed to correct it so we spun. After that I just tried to stay out of the way, make some laps, and pick up some Rookie of the Year points.
"We had a problem in the pits with the air bottles that cost us almost three laps. We are a new team working together for the first time and those things are going to happen. It is a learning process, and while we didn't get the finish we wanted at Pikes Peak, it was a lesson learned."
Previewing the MBNA America 200:
"This will be the first time I have been to Dover. Our teammate Bobby Dotter has had a lot of laps here, so we will really rely on him to help get the Sunbelt Rentals Chevy up to speed as quickly as possible. I grew up racing at Mesa Marin which is a high banked fast track, so I hope to adapt really quickly to Dover."
