Almirola Primed for Favorite Track

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 10, 2010) - Although Aric Almirola only has three prior starts at Dover International Speedway (DIS), the one-mile, concrete oval has made quite an impression on him. Almirola calls the "Monster Mile" his favorite track and is looking forward to tackling its steep, imposing banks in this Friday's Dover 200.

There's no doubt that Almirola's affinity for Dover is in part due to his previous success at the track. Almirola won the 2008 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Dover, leading a total of 27 laps. He collected top-12 finishes in his two other Dover starts, claiming 12th-place in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event in 2006 and 11th-place in 2006 NASCAR Nationwide Series competition. The No. 51 Graceway Pharmaceuticals team enters Dover with two top-10 finishes, both from Kyle Busch.

Almirola Comments on the Dover 200:

"Dover (International Speedway) is my favorite race track. It's really unique. It's like a souped-up Bristol. You can run two-wide, sometimes three-wide, at Dover depending on how much rubber gets laid down. It's really fast. It's exciting to watch for sure, and just as exciting for the drivers, too. Billy Ballew Motorsports has had a lot of success there, so I can't wait for the green flag.

"It's definitely one of the most physically demanding tracks that we go to. The amount of load through the corners, the amount of g-force, it's very physically demanding. It isn't called the 'Monster Mile' for nothing. It's a lot of fun, though."
