DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 19, 2002) - The third and final day of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series testing at Daytona International Speedway had drivers turning laps in the pack and posting fast speeds in the 187 mph range.
Turning the top five fastest laps in today's drafting session were Matt Crafton, Chevrolet, 187.566, Rick Crawford, Ford, 187.512; Bryan Reffner, Chevrolet, 187.492; Joe Ruttman, Dodge, 187.262; and David Starr, Chevrolet, 187.227 mph.
Before drafting sessions began today, drivers who posted the fastest unassisted times in the test this weekend were Jon Wood, No. 50 Ford, 184.790 mph; Ron Hornaday, No. 24 Chevrolet, 184.676 mph; Travis Kvapil, No. 60 Chevrolet, 184.532 mph; Joe Ruttman, No. 79 Dodge, 185.253 mph; and Matt Crafton, No. 88 Chevrolet,184.249 mph.
Monday begins a week of NASCAR Busch Series testing for the Feb. 16 EAS/GNC 300. Drivers expected to take the track tomorrow are No. 5 Ricky Hendrick, No.12 Kerry Earnhardt, No.14 Larry Foyt, No.19 Tim Sauter, No.20 Coy Gibbs, No.23 Scott Wimmer, No.24 Jack Sprague, No.29 Brian Vickers, No.38 Christian Elder, No.46 Ashton Lewis Jr., No.54 Kelly Denton, No.59 Stacy Compton, No.66 Casey Mears, No.67 C.W. Testing is free and open to the public with entry through the lobby of DAYTONA USA. Testing is scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am. To 5 p.m.
