RED HORSE RACING ANNOUNCES DAYTONA DRIVER LINE-UP
February , 2009 (Mooresville, NC) -- Red Horse Racing announced today that it will field a two truck team in Daytona with TJ Bell piloting the No.11 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra in NextEra Energy Resources 150. Bell will partner with 2008 defending series champion Johnny Benson, who announced his ride in RHR's No.1 Toyota truck in December.
Bell had his career best NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last season where he captured seven top 10 finishes, five of those back-to-back, earning him the Most Improved Driver Award in 2008. With a racing history that includes top finishes in other series such as SCCA Formula 2000 and CART Toyota Atlantic, Bell also participated in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, earning the title of 2004 Rookie of the Year.
For Daytona, Bell's No.11 truck will feature the charity Home4theHolidays.org in the primary hood location. Bell is spokesperson for the organization that urges families to adopt their new pets from shelters and rescue groups during the holiday season.
The 2009 inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck race will mark Bell's first time racing at Daytona in one of NASCAR's top three elite series.
"I always wanted to be part of Red Horse Racing," said Bell. "With the track record at RHR, the support of Toyota and opportunity to be teammates with Johnny Benson, I'm grateful to have this experience."
In the off-season, Bell concentrated on his personal training and is eager to see it payoff in improved performance on-track. Bell will be paired with RHR crew chief, Rick Gay, who worked with former RHR driver David Starr for several races in 2008.
Red Horse Racing and Bell may continue to field the No.11 truck if sponsorship prevails. RHR and Johnny Benson remain in pursuit of a sponsor for Daytona.
