Thoughts on 2005 Season:
"I am really anxious to get things underway with my new team - Germain / Arnold Racing. I have been given a tremendous opportunity and I look to capitalize on it. This #30 team proved how strong it was last year with two wins and I think I established myself as a strong contender in this series with two wins of my own. It is also pretty neat to be representing and working with a manufacturer such as Toyota. They have put a huge effort into this Craftsman Truck Series and I want to be a big part of their future success."
Chad On Daytona:
"Daytona is a different animal in our sport. All the teams put so much effort into this one race of the year and it can all be gone in a flash depending on your luck. Everyone loves coming to this place because it has so much special meaning and it is the beginning of the season. I have always thought that maybe this race should be a non-points race - instead being a special event that kicks off the season. This would not change the great show that is put on for the fans but maybe make it a little easier for all of the teams and take the luck factor out of play a little. Anyway, we are here this year to win this race and my team has put together a great truck for me. If the luck falls our way, we have a tremendous chance to be in Victory Lane when it is all over on Friday night."
Chad and his Germain / Arnold Racing team has put a strong effort into pre-season testing for this season opener at Daytona. In addition to testing in the open test at Daytona in January, the team also completed a two day session at the Talladega Superspeedway.
"We had a very strong Toyota Tundra in pre-season testing for Daytona and that is very encouraging as we come back for the season opener. We got a little damage during the Daytona test from another truck but the guys did a fantastic job repairing it and the truck seemed to be just as strong at the Talladega session.
The guys on this team have worked hard over the winter and I believe it will show on the track - I am more than ready to get things started."
Career at Daytona:
Chad will be making his eighth career start at the Daytona International Speedway. Of the previous seven starts, he collected his career best last season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event where he piloted his truck home to a 13th place finish.
