NEWS, NOTES & NUMBERS: This year, Tundra drivers have combined for seven wins, 33 top-five results, 71 top-10 finishes and five poles after 14 of 25 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races... Tundra drivers Bodine (first), Aric Almirola (second), Timothy Peters (third), Skinner (eighth) and David Starr (ninth) are in the top-10 in the NCWTS point standings... Peters participated in a tire test at South Carolina's Darlington Raceway last month in preparation for the NCWTS' return to the raceway after a five-year absence.
TIMOTHY PETERS, No. 17 Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing
What do you think of racing at Darlington after participating in the tire test there earlier this year? "I think it's going to be a good show. I wasn't able to participate in the 2004 race after coming into the sport in 2005. With six years being gone from that place and the show these trucks put on week in and week out, I think it's going to be action packed. I think it's going to be a unique race -- it'll be nothing like what we've ran so far this year. It's going to be a lot of give and take until about 20 or 10 laps to go and then it's going to be exciting for the fans. It's just cool to go back there and race my first race and recognize the history behind that place. Hopefully we can be the ones that bring home hardware."
DAVID STARR, No. 81 Zachary Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports
How will your three previous top-10s at Darlington help you when the series returns this weekend? "It's a great race track. I just love racing at Darlington. It is the track 'too tough to tame' -- you're right on the walls. It's kind of more of a driver's track and you really have to hit your marks. Man, you're right on that wall and if you over drive the corner, you'll be up in the wall. You have to handle good like you do anywhere, but it seems like from before they repaved the race track, you were just up on top of the truck wrestling it trying to hit your marks. . There's so much history there and to be able to go there again in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and compete with a freshly new paved race track -- we're going to put on one heck of a show for the race fans."
