Hines Records Best Qualifying Effort of The Season at Charlotte

Concord, NC. - Tracy Hines qualified a season-best 12th in the No. 88 Menards Chevrolet for Friday's Infineon 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in Charlotte. The qualifying run comes just four days after Hines recorded his career-best finish, 5th, in Mansfield, Ohio. Hines registered a fast lap of 30.610 seconds/176.413 miles per hour to slot outside row 6 for the start. Pole sitter David Starr set a fast time of 30.239 seconds/178.577 miles per hour.

"That was a heck of a lap," Hines said after picking up over six-tenths of a second from his fastest practice lap. "We had been fighting to get over the bumps in turns three and four all day, and I finally got some good advice on how to handle the bumps. Once I figured that out, and figured out that we could get the truck settled and drive over them without scrubbing off speed, it made all the difference. I think the truck had more in it. I'm still a rookie in this kind of racecar, and a little more experience here probably would have put us up in the top-10."

The Infineon 200 is scheduled to start shortly after 8:30 P.M. Eastern and can be seen live on Speed Channel. The race can also be heard live on select MRN Radio affiliates nationwide as well as NASCAR Radio 144 on XM Satellite Radio.
