Bodine Set to Race Copart Tundra on Friday at Lowe's
Mooresville, N.C. (05-11-2009) Todd Bodine has raced many types of racing vehicles at Lowe's Motor Speedway, including a Legends car. This Friday, he races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 driving the No. 30 Copart Tundra for Germain Racing. The race will be his sixth Truck Series run at Lowe's Motor Speedway where he has a best start of ninth and a best finish of third (twice). Bodine is looking forward to the first of six races with the team's new sponsor, Copart.
"We are very proud to have Copart sponsor the No. 30 Tundra. I personally met with Jay Adair (President, Copart) and I really think that Germain Racing is a great fit for Copart," said Bodine, who kicks off Copart's six-race sponsorship program with Germain Racing on Friday at Lowe's. "Copart has established itself as a leading online remarketer of vehicles and the No. 30 Tundra is the leader of the Tundra teams. I'm looking forward to racing the No. 30 Copart Tundra at Lowe's Motor Speedway this Friday night."
Bodine's sixteen wins behind the wheel of the No. 30 Tundra mean Copart is sponsoring the driver and team combination that has more wins than any other in the Tundra lineup.
"Copart is an exciting company and we are glad to have them sponsor Germain Racing," said team owner Bob Germain. "We're looking forward to developing the relationship with Copart both at the race track and at our dealerships. Copart wants to get the message out that people can find a variety of cars at Copart.com and the No. 30 Copart Tundra will help deliver that message to race fans."
In addition to the convenience of shopping at Copart.com, there are two Copart locations in N.C. -- one is just a short drive from the racing action at Lowe's Motor Speedway, located in China Grove, while the other is outside of Raleigh in Dunn, N.C.
Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. says this weekend's race at Lowe's will be a new experience for his veteran team and driver because the Truck Series will race on a brand new tire compound. Germain Racing's Sprint Cup Series experience has given them some key notes on the tire.
"We're running a new tire at Lowe's on Friday. It's never been raced on a truck, but, Germain Racing has some important experience with this tire that should give the Copart Tundra a headstart on practice Friday. The Cup Series used the tire at Las Vegas, where Max Papis raced our GEICO Camry," said Hillman. "I'm expecting the tire to make the Copart Tundra a little bit tighter than the truck has been at Lowe's in the past, so we'll start off our practice sessions with the chassis setup looser than we would have in years past."
Todd Bodine races the Copart Tundra on Friday night, May 15,, 2009, at 8:00 PM ET. Watch the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series racing action live from Lowe's Motor Speedway on SPEED or hear it on your local MRN affiliate.
NEWS: Copart Sponsorship Germain Racing recently announced that Copart has joined the team for six races in 2009 as primary sponsor of the Copart Tundra. Copart has locations in China Grove and Dunn, N.C., as well as a very strong presence on the world wide web at www.copart.com.
NEWS: Crew Lineup Changes The front tire changing duties for the No. 30 Copart Tundra will be handled by tire changer and crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. and tire carrier P.J. Briody. The rears will be handled by changer Chris Petit and carrier Alex Yonchuk. Shock specialist Tom Ackerman will call the pit stops while Hillman is over the wall. There are no new faces on this crew since Kansas, but Petit and Hillman have officially swapped ends of the race truck. Ackerman has served as crew chief in the Truck Series and earned a victory at Mansfield from a gutsy pit call.

You have Copart on the No. 30 Tundra at Lowe's:
"We are very proud to have Copart sponsor our team. I personally met with Jay Adair and I really think Germain Racing is a great fit for Copart."
What makes Lowe's Motor Speedway stand out from other tracks?
"Lowe's is easy to over drive the corners, and the groove can move around a little bit, especially in turns three and four. It's a tricky race track. The thing that stands out the most is being able to sleep in my own bed at night -- it might be my favorite feature."
How many Series Have You Raced in at Lowe's?
"I'm one of the few drivers who can say they've run in four NASCAR series at Lowe's. I've raced in Cup, Nationwide and the Truck Series and also in the Sportsman Series. I ran four races in Sportsman with a best finish of second-place."

Is there a new challenge at Lowe's?
"We are racing on a tire that is new to the Truck Series. It's important that Germain Racing has some experience with this tire from our Sprint Cup Series program. We expect the tire to make the Copart Tundra a little more tight than it's been at Lowe's, so we'll prepare the truck by starting with our setup a little more loose."
What's the biggest factor in preparing for racing at Lowe's?
"Family. Seriously, it's knowing that when the racing is done, I'm going straight home to be with my family in my home."
You had a pit crew lineup change at Kansas, how is it working out?:
"I've been enjoying going back over the wall with the Copart crew guys for the No. 30 Copart Tundra and for our GEICO Camry in the Cup races. Everyone worked great together on the 30 team at Kansas. For Lowe's all of our pit crew faces remain the same, but Chris Petit and me have switched ends of the truck - I'm on the front of the truck with P.J. Briody, Chris is on the rear with Alex Yonchuk carrying for him."
