Bad News for Jason White at Bristol

Bristol, TN -- August 18, 2010. For the first thirteen races of the NASCAR Camping Word Truck Series 2010 season Jason White was having his best year ever with four top-ten finishes and solidly positioned in the top ten in the point standings. For the last three races, White's good fortunes have vanished in a cloud of smoke.

Wednesday night at the Bristol Motor Speedway, the GunBroker.com/Outdoor Channel Outfitters Dodge erupted in a cloud of blue-white smoke on lap twenty-nine of the 200-lap race crediting White with thirty-sixth place in the final rundown.

As the NCWTS teams dodged the threat of rain during the practice sessions the SS Green Light team worked hard on the race set-up of the No. 23 before qualifying seventeenth for the 200-lap O'Reilly Auto Parts 200 with a lap of 15.84 seconds on the hi-banked half-mile racetrack.

Jason wasted no time charging toward the front of the field; moving up to eleventh position in just ten laps. The GunBroker.com/Outdoor Channel Outfitters Dodge showed it's strength moving quickly into the top-ten and was in eighth when the caution flew on lap twenty-one for an incident involving teammates Donny Lia and Jake Crum which brought out the races second caution.

Jason grabbed seventh on the doublewide restart and then powered past Johnny Sauter for the sixth position on lap twenty-seven.

Without notice, the powerplant in White's GunBroker.com/Outdoor Channel Outfitters No. 23 suddenly expired, erupting in a huge cloud of smoke and causing the races third caution. It was the third straight race with motor issues for the Virginia driver in his Dodge RAM resulting in the thirty-sixth place finish.

Kyle Bush led 116 laps to win his third NCWTS race of the 2010 season.

White dropped to eleventh in NCWTS point standings behind leader Todd Bodine.

The next race for Jason White and the SS Green Light team is the Chicagoland 225 at the Chicagoland Speedway Speedway on Friday, August 27th.
