ALLMENDINGER AIMS FOR VICTORY IN THE AARON'S LUCKY DOG TOYOTA TUNDRA
CORNELIUS, NC (August 20, 2007) - AJ Allmendinger returns to the No. 00 Aaron's Lucky Dog Toyota Tundra for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) Wednesday night.
"I am looking forward to Wednesday's truck race at Bristol," Allmendinger said, whose best finish this season is second-place at Lowe's Motor Speedway. "It's been awhile since I was last in the truck. I don't have a lot of laps on this track, so every time I can get, I gain more experience and that helps me become more comfortable in these cars and trucks."
Allmendinger and the Aaron's Lucky Dog Toyota Tundra team participated in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series test session at the newly resurfaced .533-mile oval.
"The Bristol truck test back in July went well," said Allmendinger. "We worked on the setup all day and ended up finishing in the top-5. I am really excited about this race because of the new surface and I know we have a truck capable of winning."
While Allmendinger will have a busy week, racing in both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events, his Toyota Tundra sponsor, Aaron's Sales and Lease Ownership, will also have a full-plate this week.
"Aaron's Regional Managers from across the country are coming to Asheville (NC) for a national meeting and will be in Bristol for Wednesday's Truck and the Hooter's Pro Cup races to support our teams," said Allmendinger. "These guys are proud, work hard and have helped make Aaron's the successful company it is today and I want to be able to give them something to cheer about. It would be very special to celebrate in Victory Lane with all of them."
Each year Aaron's Sales and Lease Ownership schedules its regional managers meeting around the fall Bristol races. This year over 100 regional managers and divisional executives from across the country will meet in Asheville, North Carolina and be bused to Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday to watch Allmendinger drive the No. 00 Aaron's Lucky Dog Tundra in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event and support Michael Waltrip Racing development driver, Brett Butler race the No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series race.
Live coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 22nd begins at 7:30 p.m. EDT on SPEED and MRN Radio. The USAR Hooter's Pro Cup event begins at 5:30 p.m. EDT.
