GM Racing Chevrolet Team Silverado Atlanta Practice Quotes
MIKE BLISS, NO. 16 CHEVY TRUCKS CHEVROLET SILVERADO, 5TH IN 1ST PRACTICE, IN 2ND PRACTICE: "We were searching for the some speed out there. The Chevy Trucks Silverado is handling really good. But it doesn't have a lot of speed right now, but I think in the race we will show speed because of the grip. We have a lot of grip, which hurts us lap times now but I really think in the race it will pay off for us.
"It is fun to be back with Xpress. I was looking over here that we are parked next to the No. 14. In 2000, I was parked next to him for the championship. That tells you how far this Craftsman Truck Series has come in a short time. Now we are parked next to each other back here in 13th or so. There are a lot more good trucks here. It is really fun but it is tough."
DENNIS SETZER, NO. 46 CHEVROLET SILVERADO, 17TH IN 1ST PRACTICE, IN 2ND PRACTICE: "Practice was a little up and down. We searched really hard with our Silverado mostly on race runs. We put stickers on there and turned a respectable lap so if we can start there in the top 10, we will be pretty happy about that and then go race."
RON HORNADAY, NO. 6 GM GOODWRENCH CHEVROLET SILVERADO, 23RD IN 1ST PRACTICE, IN 2ND PRACTICE: "This is starting to look a lot like the spring race so that is a good thing. Of course we would have liked to have been quicker, but I think we will be just fine. The GM Goodwrench truck was good in race trim, it just bottomed out a little. We have a few more adjustments to make and obviously we are going to have to look at what the No. 92 (KHI's Second team.) Is doing, but we will be good come time to qualify."
BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 47 CHEVROLET ECONO LODGE/RODEWAY INN ALL STAR SILVERADO 7TH IN 1ST PRACTICE, IN 2ND PRACTICE: "I think that we are pretty good. It feels really good in race trim. When we put it in qualifying trim, it stuck really good so I am looking forward to tomorrow."
DAVID STARR, NO. 75 SPEARS MANUFACTURING CHEVROLET SILVERADO, 8TH IN 1ST PRACTICE, IN 2ND PRACTICE: "We aren't bad. I think we ended up in the top-15 there on the chart. I ran wide open for two laps so I don't know what else I can do to make it go any faster. But I think we will be ok, I am pretty pleased. I am looking forward to the race."
KYLE BUSCH, NO 15 EARL SMALL'S HARLEY DAVIDSON/KRUD KUTTER SILVERADO, 2ND IN 1ST PRACTICE, IN 2ND PRACTICE: "Practice was pretty good for us. We were working on trying to find a balance for our Silverado in long runs. It was good early in a run, but we kept getting loser and loser. We kept working to get that better. I think we are one of the best trucks here-the No. 47 with Bobby Labonte and a couple others are pretty good so we will see how it goes tomorrow. We did one qualifying run and ended up fourth I think so I am pretty happy with the truck. It is easy to qualify here so I think we will be ok and have a good race."
BURNEY LAMAR, NO. 92 HPS/GROENIGER SILVERADO, 31ST IN 1ST PRACTICE, IN 2ND PRACTICE: "The second practice was really good. We had a baseline setup from Wally (Rogers, Crew Chief, No. 6 GM Goodwrench Silverado). But it didn't quite work right for us so we needed to make some big changes the Boss (Kevin Harvick) came down to our garage and set us in the right direction. It worked out pretty good for us. I think we will have a good truck for qualifying and I am looking forward to the race tomorrow."
