Atlanta Awaits Chad McCumbee; SS Green Light team upbeat following 3rd place finish in California

Chad McCumbee and the SS Green Light Racing team are heading to Atlanta on a high note fresh off the teams best finish ever at Auto Club Speedway they are heading to one of Chad's favorite tracks, the Atlanta Motor Speedway. McCumbee is looking to repeat the top-five finish he had last year at the fast mile and one half high-banked track outside of Atlanta.

McCumbee has excelled at the intermediate tracks throughout his NCWTS career with eleven of his thirteen top-ten finishes coming at mile and a half and two-mile speedways; two of his top-ten finishes have come at Atlanta Motor Speed-way including a fifth place in last year's American Commercial Lines 200 where he qualified on the outside-pole. "I had a great race at Atlanta last year and with the momentum we have from our third place run last week, I feel like the SS Green Light Racing #07 could run up front again this week."

Crew chief and team co-owner Bobby Dotter is upbeat following the SS Green Light teams best ever finish. "I feel like we can use what we learned at California to help us at AMS; even though the tracks are quite a bit different you run similar speeds. The #07 Chevy was really strong at the end of last weeks race and I believe we can pick right up from where we left off. Chad is just so good at these intermediate tracks, he has a real feel for the balance of the truck and communicating back to us as to what he needs." Dotter added, "I'm real proud of all the guys on this team. They have been working hard and I hope we can reward them with another good finish this weekend."

The SS Green Light #07 is running without primary sponsorship for the American Commercial Lines 200. Currently the team has ten races without a primary sponsor on the hood and quarterpanels of McCumbee's Chevy. Team co-owner Ken Smith is hoping another strong run will help the team secure additional support to run the team the full twenty-five race NCWTS season. "Since the last race of 2008 we have planned to improve the performance of our race team to help us attract sponsorship," said Smith. "I believe if we can back up our third place run at California with another strong finish it will help us to accomplish that goal."

* This will be the Chad's 74th NCWTS start and 82nd NASCAR start.

* Chad has competed at Atlanta Speedway in the NCWTS on six previous occasions, with a best finish of 5th in the American Commercial Lines 200 last year.

* Chad finished 7th driving for SS Green Light Racing in The GPSstore.com/Garmin #08 at Atlanta in 2006.

* Chad's career best finish in the NCWTS was 2nd in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Lowes Mo-tor Speedway on May 16, 2008.

* After two events, Chad and the SS Green Light #07 team are currently 8th in NCWTS point standings.

Chad's thoughts on the Atlanta Motor Speedway and the American Commercial Lines 200: "Atlanta has been pretty good to me in the past. I've had several top-tens there and finished fifth in the spring race last year. After last weeks finish I feel really good about going to Atlanta. This place is just so fast; it's just a cool racetrack. I feel this is the type of track that really suits my driving style and I'm hoping we can get another good finish for ASI Limited and the guys on the SS Green Light team."
