Stenhouse Jr. Set to Spend Final Off Weekend On Track in Arkansas
CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 29, 2010) -- Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is spending his final NASCAR Nationwide Series off weekend at the race track. Stenhouse, who once turned heads on dirt in high-speed sprint cars, is returning to his roots this weekend in Little Rock, Arkansas. The 23-year old will race in the 23rd annual Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway. With a record number of cars entered and a $15,000 winner payout, Stenhouse is ready to compete on the 0x00bc-mile high-banked clay track. Stenhouse will be driving the No. 141 car which is backed by CitiFinancial, his Nationwide sponsor.
"I am looking forward to getting back into a sprint car this weekend," said Stenhouse. "It's a great opportunity and will be a lot of fun. I think it'll be a great confidence builder for me as we head into the final three races of the Nationwide season. It's awesome to have CitiFinancial on my sprint car. CitiFinancial is a great sponsor to have and all the people in the motorsports program have been behind me for the better part of the last two years, so it means a lot to me. I think we're going to have a great car this weekend and it all starts tonight."
Drivers from 21 different states and Australia will race wheel to wheel this weekend culminating with the 40-lap finale on Saturday night. All the racing action will be taped by Versus and aired at a later date.
