GAFFNEY, S.C. (October 11, 2011) – Mike Wallace and the No. 01 IHateStevenSinger.com Chevrolet team of JD Motorsports are looking to post a good showing in this weekend’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Two factors are motivating them.

One, they want to have a great run for their sponsor of IHateStevenSinger.com who came on board two races ago. Second, since this race is at Charlotte, many of the team’s family and friends will be at the track cheering on their JD Motorsports team. Add the fact the race is being run under the lights on a Friday night and it’s a pretty safe bet there will be some sparks flying throughout the 200-lap event.

Mike Wallace Info This will be the St. Louis native’s 413th career NNS start, which includes four victories For the 2011 season, this will be start No. 31 During that span, he’s led six races for a total of 12 laps and completed 90.6% (5,073 of 5,597) laps contested Along the way, the No. 01 team has earned one top-five and two top-10s with his best finish of fifth taking place at Road America Three of his last five races have resulted in top-20 finishes To say he’s had some experience at the 1.5-mile oval of Charlotte would be an understatement He’s made 29 starts completing 4,608 of 5,808 laps earning three top-10s and six top-15 finishes He’s led four races for 31 laps with a best finish of ninth in 1996

Where to watch Wallace: It’s an easy weekend of watching for the at-home fans. Just turn on ESPN2 Thursday afternoon for the first practice 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET, then the final one from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Qualifying takes place at 3 p.m. with race action at 7:30 p.m.; which can also be heard on PRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90.

Mike Wallace Quotes: “Yes, we are looking to have a good weekend for our team this weekend. We are taking a different car than we had last week at Kansas, so that should help us with the handling problems we went through last Saturday.”

“I think I have more starts at Charlotte than most tracks we’ve raced at during my career. That’s a good thing, but it sometimes doesn’t matter when the track and air temperatures start changing the way the tire pressures react. Then, you have to figure in the motors and how the cooler air will change things once the sun goes down, too.”

“The best part is we all get to work from home this week and don’t have to travel like we do all the other races. I know it’s a big weekend for all of our families because they’re either going to be on pit road or in the stands watching their team.”

“After the race on Friday, we’re all going up to Toledo (Ohio) Speedway to watch my daughter, Chrissy, compete in the ARCA race on Sunday. We’re looking forward to that opportunity for her and hope she does well to get people to notice her talents.”
