AMBROSE POSTS FASTEST TIME IN FINAL PRACTICE

Marcos Ambrose returned to Montreal's 2.71-mile, 14-turn road course for the NAPA 200 as one of the favorites in the No. 59 STP Ford for JTG Daugherty Racing. And he didn't disappoint. In the first practice, Ambrose's Ford was the second fastest car on the track. Only road course veteran, Scott Pruett was faster. The remaining top five competitors included Boris Said, Patrick Carpentier and Jacques Villeneuve.

In today's final practice, Ambrose move to the top of the time charts with the fasted posted time. Max Papis, Pruett, Carpentier and Said rounded out the top five. Qualifying for tomorrow's race takes place tomorrow morning at 10 am EST on ESPN2.

"It's no secret I'm very comfortable on road courses," Ambrose said. "I really like the challenges of every racetrack, but racing on a road course comes natural to me. It's second nature. We are here with an aggressive attitude because it's a place where we know we can win." A year ago Ambrose led the race until he was knocked off course by another driver coming to the white flag lap. He also finished second earlier this year on the road course in Mexico City.
