LOFTON CLIMBS BEHIND WHEEL OF BAKER CURB'S NO. 27
2009 ARCA Racing Series Champion Justin Lofton will climb behind the wheel of the No. 27 Baker Curb Racing Ford this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The New England 200 will be the first race for Lofton with Baker Curb Racing, but will mark his third career NASCAR Nationwide Series start. Lofton, a full-time competitor in the Camping World Truck Series, ran his two previous Nationwide Series events on intermediate tracks. This weekend will mark his first run in either series at the 1.058-mile Loudon, New Hampshire track. Despite running with a new team for the first time at a new track, Lofton enters the race weekend confident. Earlier this season within truck competition, he notched a solid third place finish at a similar one-mile track, Dover International Speedway.
JUSTIN LOFTON ON NEW HAMPSHIRE
"I am excited this opportunity came along with Baker Curb. I was wondering what I was going to do during our time off in the Truck Series. I am looking forward to going out and having a great run this weekend and gaining more experience behind the wheel of a Nationwide Series car. It will also help when I return to New Hampshire in the Truck Series. I spent some time at the shop early this week to get to know the guys and get fitted for my seat. I am really excited about going to Loudon with the Baker Curb guys. We are going to have Weekend Warriors TV on our hood and the National FFA Organization on our quarter panels. I was a member of the National FFA in high school and I am really excited to be representing such a great organization."
CREW CHIEF JOHN REESE ON NEW HAMPSHIRE
"We are very excited to have Justin in our car this weekend at New Hampshire. He is one of the up and coming drivers in NASCAR and has had some solid runs this year in the Camping World Truck Series. Owen Kelly had a great run for us at Road America and we feel that we can build on that momentum this weekend with Justin behind the wheel. We are taking car 81, which is the car that Scott Lagasse Jr. finished eighth with at Phoenix earlier this season. The setup for New Hampshire is similar to what we ran at Phoenix, so we feel that we should be very competitive from the time we unload the car of the truck.
