Kyle Busch logs another win at Bristol

The No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota of Kyle Busch dominated the Food City 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday night, leading 228 laps of the 250 that made up the race en route to his second Bristol win of the week after winning the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the track on Wednesday night. He still has one more Bristol race to go -- Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol

"You've got to win two to go for three, and here's two," Busch said in victory lane.

The win was the 15th at Bristol for the track's all-time winningest driver across all three national divisions of NASCAR.

For most of those laps led, the No. 22 Penske Racing Ford of Brad Keselowski ran second. Keselowski also finished second to Busch on Friday night.

"We just didn't quite have enough," Keselowski said. "We were close, just not quite good enough," Keselowski said.

The No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet of Austin Dillon finished third and moved up to second in the points standings, six points behind leader Sam Hornish Jr., who finished 12th in the No. 12 Penske Racing Ford.

A slow pit stop for Dillon during a caution that came out on lap 63 was the only trouble Dillon had in the race, a far cry from his championship competitors. He was the only driver in the top-five of the point standings to finish on the lead lap.

"We struggled on pit road," Dillon said, but he went on to compliment his team on building a car that allowed him to overcome the pit road struggles on the race track.

The No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota of Elliott Sadler finished 10th, but was a lap down. Hornish battled an issue with a faulty spark plug wire. The No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet of Regan Smith went laps down early after a green flag pit stop for a broken wheel, and the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota of Brian Vickers was heavily damaged in a wreck with under 100 laps to go.

"I went down into turn three and the car just took off," Vickers said. "We were just running so high, so fast."

Busch started on the pole and led the way until the second caution to the race came out just past lap 100. Busch was the only leader who stayed out when the first caution came out on lap 63, but when the yellow flag waved at lap 100, he along with almost everyone else headed down pit road.

The No. 32 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet of Kyle Larson, stayed out though, to inherit the lead. The No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford of Trevor Bayne took on only two tires to get off pit road to restart second. Keselowski also beat Busch off pit road, putting Busch in fourth for the restart, the farthest back he ran the entire race.

Both Keselowski and Busch got by Bayne as soon as the race restarted, and Busch quickly got by Keselowski to retake second. On lap 129, Busch retook the lead from Larson. Keselowski then went by Larson to take second and Busch and Keselowski ran first and second the rest of the way.

"It's great to start up front and lead laps, but still battle other guys," Busch said."

The No. 31 Turner Scott Motorsports Chevrolet of Justin Allgaier and Larson finished fourth and fifth. Others finishing on the lead lap included Bayne in sixth, the No. 33 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet of Ty Dillon in seventh, the No. 5 JR Motorsports Chevrolet of Kasey Kahne in eighth, and the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet of Brian Scott in ninth.
