Jon Wood Quotes

On Texas: "We had a great car at Las Vegas and Atlanta, so we're really looking forward to Texas since it's got many of the same characteristics. We've worked hard on getting our car to turn better in the corners so we can carry more speed coming out of the corners and down the straightaways. That's very important for Texas. The exits are where you make your speed at Texas."

On the season: "We're finally getting the kind of finishes we deserve and it's helped us go from 31st to 10th in the standings in the last five races. We've been able to carry over a lot of confidence and momentum from week to week, and as long as we keep doing that, we'll be on track to win races and be a consistent Top-10 team."

Crew Chief Jay Guy

On Texas: "You can describe Texas in one word: Fast. We need to squeeze every ounce of speed out of our Clorox/Wisk Ford Taurus. We know we're going to have plenty of horsepower, and we know Jon is going to keep the gas pedal on the floorboard. That allows us to concentrate on making the car as sleek as possible. As Jon said, the key is getting the car to rocket off the second and fourth turns. If you can get back in the gas just a half-second quicker than the next guy coming off the corners, you'll be tough to beat."
