Central City, KY (November 13, 2001) ... Clarence Brewer Jr., Owner, and Todd Wilkerson, President and General Manager of Brewco Motorsports, Inc. announced today that Jeff Purvis has been signed to drive the #37 Timber Wolf Chevrolets in the NASCAR Busch Series next season. The contract was signed at the Central City, Kentucky headquarters of Brewco Motorsports.
Purvis is a veteran competitor with 174 career NASCAR Busch Series starts. He has three career Busch Series victories including this year at Pikes Peak International Raceway driving the #21 car for Richard Childress Racing. Purvis has 24 top-five and 56 top-ten finishes in his Busch Series career and has earned over $2.9 million.
The Clarksville, Tennessee native began his racing career in 1973 and has over 350 feature wins on dirt and asphalt. Purvis was the 1984 and 1985 NDRA (National Dirt Racing Association) National Champion and has eight ARCA superspeedway wins in addition to his three Busch victories. Earlier this year, Purvis was one of the initial inductees into the National Dirt Racing Association Hall of Fame.
"I've watched Brewco Motorsports since they started racing," Purvis commented. "I've always wanted to drive for Clarence (Brewer Jr.) because they put a quality racecar on the track every week. Brewco Motorsports is close to home and this is a good situation for me."
