DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Roush Racing and Hank Parker, Jr. are nearing completion of a sponsorship deal that would send Parker, Jr. back to the Busch Series. Parker was running the #36 GNC Dodge, until losing his ride at the end of last season.
It is speculated that the sponsor of Parker's car will be TrimSpa, an over the counter diet pill sold online and in health food stores.
Parker arrived in Daytona for preseason BGN testing with Stanton Barrett, who is taking over the #60 Ford from Greg Biffle.
The duo shared the pit crew of the #60 Ford, as Parker tested a #53 Ford making a limited number of runs in the afternoon session.
Parker was hopeful that an announcement would be forthcoming.
"This is a great opportunity, but it's still not 100 percent done," Parker said. "It's just one of those deals that when it all works out it's going to be real exciting."
Parker is a two-time Busch series winner.
