Michael Annett was not involved in the final lap crash at the Daytona International Speedway, but the Richard Petty Motorsports Ford driver was one of the drivers who crashed on lap 115 in the 120-lap Drive4COPD 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

There were 11 cars involved in the accident that brought out the red flag: Austin Dillon, Annett, Kasey Kahne, Danny Efland, Johanna Long, Hal Martin, Mike Bliss, Jamie Dick and Jason White.

Annett was taken to the Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla. due to the pain he felt in his chest and sternum.

Martin, Long and Dick were also injured but not seriously. The three were treated and released from the Daytona infield medical center.

Per the RPM team, Annett was treated for bruising on his chest and underwent a CT Scan.

The driver of the No. 43 Pilot Flying J Ford Mustang is alert but he will remain at the hospital for observation.

Even though their thoughts were with their driver, RPM posted on their RPM twitter account: "Our thoughts and prayers are also to those who were affected by today's last lap accident."

Annett's teammate Reed Sorenson said on his twitter, "Went and saw my buddy Michael Annett earlier he is doing fine I hope all the fans will be ok as well."
