Charlotte, NC (August 6, 2008) - Robby Gordon and the No. 7 Jim Beam Dodge Charger will take on the familiar twists and turns at Watkins Glen International this weekend, as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series makes its final road course appearance this season. Gordon, regarded as one of NASCAR's best road course racers, will attempt to capture his second career win at the 2.45-mile road course. Gordon cruised to victory lane at the Glen in 2003, completing his sweep of the Sprint Cup road course races that year.
Gordon's Jim Beam Dodge will again carry an in-car camera for Sunday's ESPN broadcast, showing fans his moves as he battles the eleven-turn track. For the second time this session, Gordon will be a featured driver on DirecTV's Hot Pass, airing on SD channel 793 and HD channel 798.
Watkins Glen - "I obviously look forward to the road courses all season and view them as one of our best opportunities to shine," said Gordon. "We've got Jim Beam on the car for both the Nationwide and the Sprint Cup races, and it would be incredible to win both races for them. We tested Road Atlanta last week and have spent the last few weeks perfecting our cars for this weekend's races. I feel really good about this weekend, and I think that we have a legitimate shot of being in Victory Lane on Saturday and Sunday. Watkins Glen could be the race we've been looking forward to and the start of something big for our team."
