Watkins Glen, NY (August 10, 2007) -- Watkins Glen International announced today that the Governor of New York State, Eliot Spitzer will be the Grand Marshal for this year's Centurion Boats at The Glen NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race this Sunday. The race is scheduled to take the green flag at 2:20 PM with the command to take place by the Governor around 2:00 PM during pre-race ceremonies, along the front stretch of the track.

"As a NASCAR fan for over two decades, being Grand Marshal at Watkins Glen International is a dream come true," said Governor Spitzer. "I'm excited to join fellow fans at The Glen for a day of racing and take part in a Southern Tier tradition."

"It is an honor to have Governor Spitzer as our Grand Marshal for this weekend's Centurion Boats at The Glen," stated Craig Rust, President of Watkins Glen International. "I know the Governor is not only a big fan of NASCAR, but also understands what this event means to both the region and New York State. I appreciate him joining us and helping us to get the race started!"
