"This week we should definitely be able to tell what the two inches will do for the Dodge teams. This is the first race track we're going back to, so we'll be able to see how the change is going to change the handling of the race car. We think it is going to really help us especially after a promising run at Indianapolis a couple of weeks ago."

BURTON ON WATKINS GLEN:

"We had a great car all weekend. We ran great during practice and then had a good run during qualifying. We thought we had a good chance of finishing in the top five. It started out being tight, but the crew made some changes during the first pit stop, but we never were able to see how that was going to help us because of the motor. I miss shifted and that caused us to drop a cylinder. It cost us a spot in the points, but we hope to make that up this weekend."

BURTON ON MICHIGAN:

"We had a great run going here in June. We were running third when something came through the radiator and eventually we lost power to the motor. It was unfortunate because the CAT car was running great. Michigan is one of those places that I like racing at. It's wide and has a lot of room to pass and it's also real fast. I hope we can have a little luck this weekend and have a great finish. Maybe the CAT team could even be the first Dodge to make it to victory lane. I really think it could happen here at Michigan. With the rule change, the Dodges certainly have a good chance."

TEAM NEWS:

Bill Davis, car owner of the No. 22 Caterpillar Dodge and the No. 93 Amoco Dodge, spent this week riding his motorcycle from Watkins Glen (NY) to Michigan. He joined Steve Park and Matt Yocum on the ride.
