Ty Dillon is set to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
NASCAR allows teams to test at four tracks that are currently on the Sprint Cup schedule during the year and Richard Childress Racing is utilizing their third test this week. Yesterday and today, all three of their Cup teams, plus a fourth car are testing at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Ty Dillon will go into Atlanta as a former winner at the track, doing so in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last year. He has four victories between the Truck and Nationwide divisions and currently sits third in the Nationwide championship standings, just 12 points adrift of Chase Elliott.
The plan is to get Ty into a full-time Cup ride by 2016 while he runs a full-time Nationwide and part-time Cup schedule.
