The second Pocono race saw a slight decline in TV ratings this year.
According to Nielsen Media, this year's Sprint Cup race at Pocono averaged 4,374,000 viewers, earning it a 2.8 U.S. household rating. In 2013, the race earned a 3.2 and averaged 5,063,000 viewers.
The TV viewership for NASCAR races in 2014 has been down by a few hundred thousand people with the last race seeing an increase being the road course event at Sonoma, which was around five weeks ago.
Perhaps a message for NASCAR that the fans desire more right hand turns on the schedule? This weekend is the widly popular race at Watkins Glen, another road course that could very well give NASCAR's TV ratings the boost they need after this summer drought.
