How special is it that Toyota recently produced its 20 millionth vehicle? "Toyota is proud to have recently produced its 20 millionth vehicle in North America. We are also pleased with our involvement as a manufacturer and competitor in NASCAR with the Tundra since 2004, and the Camry since 2007. We thought that having our NASCAR Camry and Tundra drivers feature a decal on their race vehicles to recognize that accomplishment would be a great way to commemorate passing the 20 million mark. We think it's a great way to show NASCAR's dedicated fan base Toyota's long standing commitment to the U.S. and North American markets."
What does a win mean for the Red Bull Racing Team? "Winning a race in this sport, with the level of competition , is always pretty special. To win a race at an organization where you're one of the first employees -- you were one of the first people there and to see it grow from the bottom up gives it a little something extra. I t seems like just yesterday we were loading up and going home from races that I never dreamed we would. We missed them as a team -- as a group. That was tough. That was painful. It was probably the hardest year of my racing career. To take that same group of individuals and team, TRD (Toyota Racing Development), Red Bull and then to put it in victory lane -- there's something extra to that."
How tough is it to battle so many drivers for a spot in the 'Chase?' "The way the sport is -- how competitive it is and how tight the championship is -- when you're racing one person for a championship you can swap a hundred points in no time. They have one bad race, you have a good one, there's a hundred points. But, when you' re battling three, four, five or six guys, somebody is bound to have a good day. That makes it tough to make up huge numbers. That makes it very difficult to make big strides. Because even if one or two of them have a bad day, usually several others are going to have a good day."
JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 Home Depot Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Are you looking forward to the Saturday night race at Bristol? "I've seen plenty of them and they are exciting. I think we're going to be all right. I think we're going to have a lot of fun. Everyone always seems to have a good time there. The track is a lot different than it used to be since they've redone it. It will be cool running under the lights. It seems like every race track we go to under the lights seems a little cooler."
