Riggs, Tommy Baldwin Racing Mutually Part Ways

Mooresville, N.C. (May 24, 2009) -- Tommy Baldwin Racing and veteran driver Scott Riggs have agreed to parts ways after a slow start by the newly formed Tommy Baldwin Racing team.

"I want to thank Scott (Riggs) for helping me get my race team up and running," said Baldwin, owner and crew chief of TBR. "He has helped us get our fleet of cars where they are today. I just felt like it was time to make a change to see where the race team stacked up against other teams. I wish Scott the best of luck in all his future plans."

The No. 36 team has qualified for eight of the first 12 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races this season with a top finish of 25th in the Daytona 500. Additionally, the No. 36 team is currently 41st in the NASCAR Sprint Cup point standings sitting 343 points outside the top 35.

"I enjoyed my time working with Tommy," said Riggs. "I just think it was time for both of us to make a change. We mutually agreed it was time for someone else to jump behind the wheel of the race car. I wish Tommy the best of luck."
